System
A collection of components that work together to achieve a common goal.
Computer System
A system that combines hardware, software, firmware, and liveware to process data and produce meaningful information.
Computer
A programmable machine and electronic device that inputs, stores, processes, and outputs data, converting it into information that is useful to people.
Raw Data
Numbers, characters, images, or other outputs from devices to convert physical quantities into symbols; a relative term where processed data from one stage may serve as raw data for the next.
Information
A message that has been received and understood, resulting from processing, organizing, and interpreting data in a way that increases the knowledge and understanding of the person who receives it.
Information Technology (IT)
A general term relating to the use of a computer as an aid to creating, maintaining, and managing data and processing information.
