Others see the book needing interpretation as it was written in specific time and culture and some teachings need to be adapted to modern society.

For some the bible is viewed more liberally as the stories may just be symbols and morals for Christians to follow.

Catholics believe that by taking past in sacraments they can achieve salvation, Baptism cleans them of sin and by confessing (sacrament of penance) the sins they commit are freed
