Japanese Imperialism Leading up to Pearl Harbor
Japan was an imperial power in Manchukuo (Manchuria) and parts of northern China. But most importantly, Japan attacked British, French, and American rule in Southeast Asia, which led to the US threatening to place an embargo on Japan. Figuring that they’d end up warring either way, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941.
Hiroshima & Nagasaki
Hiroshima: Received the first atomic bomb by the US in 1945
Nagasaki: Received the next eight days later
These bombings officially ended WWII
