The practice of meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, by maintaining the balance of natural ecosystems and conserving resources.
Scale of Analysis
The scale of which data is organized on a map.(national,country level, city level)
Small scale map
Zoomed out, usually showing places at a bigger scale.(A country of the world.)
Large scale map
Zoomed in, in more detail and usually showing places at a smaller level. (Like a city or small town.)
Functional Regions
Geographic areas organized a center point, or a specific area with a specific purpose. (A airport or boat dock)
Vernacular Regions
Geographic area with perceived, common characteristics or, people beliefs of the regions purpose/borders.
Formal Regions
Geographic area with common characteristics, or a region with defined borders.
