Cell
The basic building block of all organs and systems in the body.
Organ systems
The result of cells combining to form organs, which then work together as a structural hierarchy.
Nervous system
The command center of the body responsible for thinking, reasoning, senses, and controlling movement, temperature, and heart beating.
Endocrine system
A system that uses chemical signals to control growth and metabolism.
Respiratory system
An energy resource system that brings O2 into the body and removes CO2.
Digestive system
A system that breaks food into nutrients and absorbs them for the body's use.
Circulatory system
A system that transports nutrients, hormones, and waste products throughout the body.
Urinary system
A system that filters waste from the blood and removes it from the body.
Skeletal system
A system that provides structure, protects internal organs, and helps with the production of blood cells.
Muscular system
A system that works with bones to facilitate movement, maintain posture, and generate heat.
