Institutions that are not controlled by the government or by the State.
Banks
NON-STATE INSTITUTION
A financial institution that lends money both to public as well as private organizations.
Corporation

Refers to a broad category of non-state organizations representing a company or group of people that engages in a lawful activity in relation to public function, such as the provision of a good or service to the larger society.

Refers to an organization of workers whose main objective is to protect the welfare of its members. Created to protect the labor force of the country. Examples: Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) and Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU)

NON-STATE INSTITUTION
Owned by its members, and democratically operated. Refers to an autonomous association whose membership is voluntary toward the attainment of common economic, social and cultural needs or aspirations.

NON-STATE INSTITUTION
Promote progress by engaging in project policy making, and dialogue. Works as a bank that provides financial assistance to important projects.
Civil Organizations
NON-STATE INSTITUTION
Include academic institutions, research teams, mass media, religious organizations and peoples organizations. They provide facts about life's various realities to influence policy-making.

Influence the government to take action on matters commonly neglected. A group may be national or international organizations that promotes and advocates progress and development related to a particular issue of the society. Examples: Greenpeace, Human Rights Watch
