Goliathus cacicus
aka the “chief” goliath beetle. males: 2.0-3.9 in, generally iridescent; females: 2.3, 3.1 in, white + lacks iridescence. distributed widely through western Africa

Goliathus regius
aka the “royal” goliath beetle. largest in the species. males: 2.0-4.5 in; females: 2.2-3.2 in. distributed throughout western equatorial Africa

Goliathus goliatus
one of the larger members of this genus. males: 2-4.3 in; females: 2.1-3.1 in. widespread from western to eastern equatorial Africa (mostly in the forests and sub-eq. savannah)

Argyrophegges kolbei
only member of its occasionally recognized subgenus (NOW CONSIDERED ITS GENUS. GOLIATHUS POSER!!!!) exact sizes undocumented. found in eastern africa

Goliathus orientalis
one of the largest members of this genus. males: 2.0-3.9 in; females: 2.0-2.6 in. found mostly in central and eastern africa. taxon has two subspecies

Goliathus albosignatus
different characteristics from the other members (like the hammer-shaped post-clypeal horns in males.) males: 1.8-2.8 in; females: 1.6-2.0 in. only Goliath beetle found in the subtropics of Africa. taxon has two subspecies.

Goliathus atlas
EXTREMELY RARE and not considered an actual species. this is a natural hybrid of cassicus and regius. a lot is unknown. specimens found(?) in the Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso
