Sole Proprietorship

A business structure where an individual owns and operates a business.

Partnership

A business structure where two or more individuals own and operate a business together.

Cooperation

An entity separate from its owners.

Cooperatives

A type of business registered with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). May be eligible for government grants that help them get started.

PhilHealth

The medical insurance company in the Philippines. All public and private employees are to apply for membership and pay monthly contributions under Republic Act No. 7875.

Home Development Mutual Fund

Housing loans to public and private employees and to self-employed individuals who apply for membership.

Social Security System

Offers private employees and their families security against disability, sickness, old age, death, or other such cases that could make them unable of continuing their employment.

Intellectual Property (IP)

A type of property that comes from the product of mental effort and usually compose of copyrights, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets.

Copyright and other related rights

These rights comprise of books and other literary articles, films, painting, audio or music, and computer or software programs.

Geographic Indication

Can either be a name or a sign used by and for a product from a specific geographical location.

Industrial Designs

Could either be three-dimensional features (with shapes and surfaces) or two-dimensional ones (with patterns, lines, or color).

Patents

An exclusive right granted to investors, which provides a new product or a new way of doing something or offers a new technical solution to a problem.

Lay-out Designs or Topographies of Integrated Circuits

These are usually three-dimensional elements or forms intended for manufacturing.
