Comprised of muscle cells.
Muscles are the primary means of motion.
Generally require activation by a motor nerve to ‘contract
Attach to bone, cartilage, ligament or fascia via tendon (or aponeuroses)
Distal and Proximal attachments to identify attachment points of muscles
