  • Comprised of muscle cells.

  •  Muscles are the primary means of motion.

  •  Generally require activation by a motor nerve to ‘contract


  • Attach to bone, cartilage, ligament or fascia via tendon (or aponeuroses)

  • Distal and   Proximal attachments to identify attachment points of muscles
