Butterfly Roof

A roof having two slopes, each descending inward from the eaves

Shed Roof

A roof having a single slope

Sawtooth Roof

A roof composed of a series of small parallel roofs of triangular cross section, usually asymmetrical with the shorter slope glazed

A pyramidal hip roof.

Barrel Roof

A roof or ceiling having a semicylindrical form.

Rainbow Roof

A gable roof in the form of a broad Gothic arch, with gently sloping convex surfaces.

Gutter

A channel of metal or wood at the eaves or on the roof of a building, for carrying off rainwater

Flashing

Pieces of sheet metal or other thin, impervious material installed to prevent the passage of water into a structure from an angle or joint

Valley Flashing

A wide strip of sheet metal or roofing felt for lining the valley of a roof.

Ridgecap

A course or layer of roofing material covering the ridge of a roof.

Fascia Board

A wide board set vertically to cover the lower ends of rafters of the joint between the top of a wall and the projecting eaves.

Corrugated Roofing

A roof coveringof corrugated sheets of galvanized iron, coated steel, aluminum, fiber glass, or reinforced plastic

Base Flashing

Flashingcovering and protecting the joint between a roof and the vertical surface of a wall, parapet, or chimney

Cap Flashing

Flashingturned down to protect base flashing and prevent water from entering the joint.

Cap Receiver

A metal strip interlocking with and securing a cap flashing
