Art as a Human Construct

Creativity1

Act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality

characterized by the ability to perceive the world in new ways, to find hidden patterns, to make connections between seemingly unrelated phenomena, and to generate solutions.

Creativity2

is the mental capacity to generate novel and useful ideas, more or less.
it is about thinking, exploring, discovering, and imagining.

Art as a Creation (What is creation?)

the act of combining or re-ordering already existing materials so that a new object is formed.

Art as a Creative Activity

involves skills or expertness in handling materials and organizing them into new, structurally pleasing, and significant units. This skill is acquired through long training and constant practice.

Art is a planned activity

The artist thinks out a design, selects his materials, and arranges them according to his design.

Art is a cooperative activity

May be a result of a cooperative activity, by a team of artists motivated by a common goal, as in the production of a play or movie.

Art as expression of order

Each finish product is an expression of order –the artist’s idea of order.  It is taken as a self-contained object, reacted to, and evaluated by people who come in contact with it.
