What to expect after Meningitis B vaccine?
Fever
Give paracetamol = reduce the risk of fever, irritability and general discomfort e.g. pain at the site of injection after vaccination
What reactions are caused after the MMR vaccines?
(MMR - measles, mumps, rubella)
Measles: 6-10 days = fever, measles like rash & loss of appetite show
Mumps: 2-3 weeks = fever & swollen glands
Rubella: 12-14 days = brief rash and slightly raised temperature
Who can get free NHS flu vaccine?
>65 years
Immunocompromised e.g. HIV, AIDs, chemotherapy treatment
COPD, Cystic fibrosis and Asthma (needing a steroid inhaler or tablets)
Heart failure or coronary heart disease
Chronic kidney disease
Liver disease e.g. cirrhosis or hepatitis
Diabetes or Addison’s disease
Being overweight - BMI >40
