Controls the movement of substances into and out of the cell

Cytoplasm

jelly-like substance where chemical reactions take place in a cell, keeping the cell alive

Nucleus

Controls the cell, contains DNA in chromosomes- the instructions to make proteins

Mitochondria

Where aerobic respiration takes place. Releases energy from glucose

Small substances made out of RNA and proteins, they're the site of protein synthesis, where amino acids join together to make proteins

Cellulose Cell Wall

Rigid layer of cellulose surrounding cell membrane, it strengthens and supports the plant cell and helps prevent it from bursting when water enters by osmosis

Chloroplasts

Contain chlorophyll to absorb light for photosynthesis

Vacuole

Contains fluid called cell sap (water,sugar and mineral ions) Helps with support
