Eukaryotic Cells
Cells that contain their genetic material enclosed in a nucleus.
Prokaryotic Cells
Cells that do not have a nucleus; their genetic material is not enclosed.
Cell Membrane
A barrier that surrounds the cell, which is present in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
Cell Wall
A rigid outer layer found in prokaryotic cells (like bacteria) and in plant cells, but not in animal cells.
Cytoplasm
The jelly-like substance within a cell where cellular processes occur, found in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.
Plasmids
Small rings of DNA found in some prokaryotic cells (bacteria).
Genetic Material
The DNA contained within the nucleus of eukaryotic cells and in a loop form in prokaryotic cells.
Size Comparison
Prokaryotic cells are generally much smaller than eukaryotic cells.
