Scene 1: Zeke: “Yeah… If you ever pass that driving test!”

(I approach the girls)

“Hey, guys! I want to make this the best summer ever- even if we cant find jobs, right Taylor?”

Martha: I’m going to become a break-dancing, hip-hopping, baby-sitting, mega-uber-super-duper-star!

(say with Taylor Martha and Kelsi)

Hip hop hooray!

Kelsi: “Hey Gabriella, i’m writing a brand new musical for you and Troy!”

Oh, that’s great Kelsi! It would be so cool if we could all be in it-

Sharpay: (BARGING in) Gabriella, I know you’ve had to move every summer. I hate to think this is….goodbye!

But its not goodbye Sharpay! My mom promised were staying here another year ‘til graduation. Isn’t that great?

Sharpay: Great!

Sharpay, we got off to a bad start when I transferred here in winter and got the lead in the musical… but you were such a big help to me during Romeo and Juliet.

Sharpay: I’m sure I know not whereof you speak.

Troy: “Guess who?”

(after line you hug but kids interrupts)

SCENE 2: (pool after fabulous) sharpay: Gabriella!

Troy: Ryan!

Ryan: Troy!

“Sharpay!”

Sharpay: “Ugh, I mean- Gabriella! What are you doing here?”

I’m the new lifeguard.

SCENE 3: Zeke: “chef micheal, doing desserts and baked goods?”

(I ENTER on break)

Hey guys, how’s the first day going?

Fulton: Miss montez, I believe your break doesn’t start for another 43 seconds. Now all of you get this kitchen ready for lunch or your first day will also be your last! Understood?

Sir, yes Sir!

Fulton: “well done, wildcats! i’m vastly impressed.”

Scene 4: (Kelsi is playing you r the music in me)

(I ENTER)

Kelsi, what’s that song you were playing? It’s really good.

Kelsi: I wrote it last week but figure we can sing it in the talent show. You and Troy can sing lead, and Zeke and Chad and Taylor and-

Kelsi: “I wrote it for you and Troy, because, well, you guys are like the music in me. What do you think?

Kelsi: “‘One for all…all for one’ - excellent!”

SCENE 7: Martha: sup G? Wheres T?

Taylor: in the doghouse!

Sharpay: Oh, I’m sure he’ll be here soon.

You’re late. (unison speak-look at Sharpay)

TAYLOR: He’s not late for you, he’s late for her.

Sharpay: you promised troy. and I’m keeping you to your word. Here you can be the fresh fish prince.

(gab say line to Troy)

SCENE 9: (bball court)

RYAN: “Hey, Gabriella”

Hey Ryan. Sorry about ‘humuhumu.’ I really liked it.

RYAN: It’s just a dumb old talent show, but Sharpay acts like it's

American Idol.

Hey, why don’t you come to the staff baseball game with me?

Ryan: Thanks, but i’m not an employee. I wasn’t invited.

(exit after my line)

I just invited you. Come on!

SCENE 10: (I run in dragging Ryan with me)

Hey wildcats! Look I found our 9th man!

RYAN: Yeah, "Humuhumu" is out, too, now that Sharpay broke up our act!

Hey, Troy or no Troy. I thought we decided doing the show together would be fun.

CHAD: Who are we kidding we don’t know what were doing.

(point to Ryan during my line)

No, but he does.

RYAN: “1-2-3 red light, hello!”

If we had a real dancer like Ryan putting it together the employees could win.

SCENE 11: (rehearsal room) TROY: (walking in) “Hey”

“Hey'“

Ryan: “Whoa ’scuse me for living”

“Ryan’s just trying to help you, Troy”

Troy: “The number looks great, guys. Have fun.” (troy exits, Gabriella rallies wildcats)

Ryan, he didn’t mean it. I’ll talk to him. Come on, lets do it again. We only have a few days left to learn this.

Chad: “You know who’s behind this, don’t you?”

RYAN: “sharpay.”

(rush exit after my line)

SCENE 12:(Sharpay laughs with SHARPETTES)

Sharpay. I need to talk to you. Right now!

Sharpay: “So?”

So how can you kick us- and your own brother- out of the show?

SHARPAY: “don't lecture me about Ryan, given the way you've been holding Troy back from realizing his full potential.”

SHARPETTES: “yeah!”

What are you talking about?

SHARPAY: “He's worried about his future, worried about college and all I've tried to do is help, but you keep getting in the way.”

SHarpettes: yeah!

What’s that got to do with messing with our show?

sharpay: You just cant stand the fact that I won.

What’s the prize? Troy? Some dumb talent show award? I’m out of here. But you better step away from the mirror long enough to see the damage you leave behind you, before it’s too late.

Sharpay: “But I just I mean, I only — Girls!”

(SHARPAY exits, I got to leave but Troy stops me)

TROY: “Gabriella!”

Troy, us working together sounded good, but things change, right?

TROY: “The golf, the singing... I'm just trying to work out this scholarship thing.”

That's great, Troy, except when I talk to you, I don't know who I'm talking to anymore.

TROY": “It's just me.” (gotta go ur own way starts)

Blowing off your friends, missing dates, breaking promises If you act like someone you’re not pretty soon that’s who you become.

SCENE 13: ZEKE: “Uhm, that would be me.” (sharpay turns and sees me) SHARPAY: “hey”

Hey.

SHARPAY: “So I, uhm, finally stepped away from the mirror.”

And?

Sharpay: “And I saw that everything really kinda does change in the summer. Including me, I guess. Friends?” (after line we hug)

Friends.

TROY: “Thanks for coming back.”

Now the summer can really start.

TROY: “And I'm going to spend every last second of it with you.” (after my line and his, kiss/hug)
