Limiting Reagent
The reactant that runs out first in a chemical reaction, determining the maximum amount of product that can be formed.
Percentage Yield
A measure of how much of the reactants have been converted into products in a chemical reaction, often expressed as a percentage.
Stoichiometry
The ratio between the amounts of reactants and products in a balanced chemical equation.
Solutions
Homogeneous mixtures of two or more substances, where one substance (the solute) is dissolved in another (the solvent).
Solute
The substance that is dissolved in a solution.
Solvent
The substance that dissolves the solute in a solution.
Solution
A homogeneous mixture formed when a solute is dissolved in a solvent.
Concentration
The amount of solute dissolved in a unit volume of solution.
Balanced Equation
Ensuring that the number of atoms and the charges are equal on both sides of a chemical equation.
Molarity
The amount of solute (in moles) dissolved per liter of solution.
Aqueous (aq)
Indicates that the substance is dissolved in water within a chemical equation.
Moles
The relationship between the mass of a substance and the number of objects (atoms or molecules).
