Renal Failure
a condition in which the kidneys shut down/stop functioning; wear and tear from years of overuse and interruption in blood flow to the kidney cells causes the damage.
Hypertension (HTN)
a condition in which there is too much force of the blood against the blood vessel walls.
Diabetic Retinopathy
a condition in which the sensory organ for sight at the back of the eye is damaged due to interruption in blood flow to the cells.
Peripheral Neuropathy
a condition in which nerves in the extremities (fingers and toes) are damaged due to interruption in blood flow to the nerves causing pain, tingling and numbness.
Gangrene
a condition in which there is damage to body tissue, typically toes and fingers, due a serious bacterial infection.
Non-traumatic Amputation
a condition in which part or all of a limb is surgically removed; typically due to gangrene

a condition in which there is damage to brain cells caused by interruption in the blood flow through the blood vessels that supply the brain with oxygenated blood.
Myocardial Infarct (MI)
aka heart attack; a condition in which there is damage to the heart cells caused by an interruption in the blood flow through the coronary arteries.
