Geometry
The branch of mathematics that is the study of shapes, lines, angles, and space and the relationship between them.
Point
A term that indicates a location, represented by a name such as A.

Line
A straight path extending infinitely in opposite directions, symbolized by a horizontal arrow above two points (e.g., BC or CB) or a lowercase letter like l.

Line Segment
A part of a line with two endpoints, symbolized by a horizontal bar above two points (e.g., AB or BA).

Endpoint
A point marking the beginning or end of a line segment or the starting point of a ray.

Ray
Part of a line that starts at a point and extends infinitely in one direction, symbolized by a horizontal arrow that extends in one direction (e.g., GH).

Vertex
The point of intersection of two or more line segments, rays, or lines; in an angle, it is the common endpoint of two rays.

Side
In an angle, these are the rays that share a common endpoint; in a triangle, these are the line segments connecting the vertices.

Angle
A figure formed by two rays with the same endpoint (the vertex), written as ∠A, ∠BAC, or ∠CAB.

Triangle
A shape with three sides and three vertices, written using the symbol △ABC.

Parallel Lines
Lines that are always the same distance apart and NEVER meet, written as l∥m.

Perpendicular Lines
Lines that intersect to form four right angles, written as l⊥m.
