Despite

Despite is used in English to express contrast and means "a pesar de" or "pese a". Indicates that something happens despite an obstacle or difficulty:

Despite the rain, we went for a walk

Example: "The bus is due in five minutes"(El bus está por llegar en 5 min).

Pregnancies: "She is due in October" (Se espera que dé a luz en octubre / su fecha de parto es en octubre).

• Expired or pending payment: Money or bills to be paid.

Example: "The rent is due today".

• Due to (Cause): Used in the combination due to, which means "because of" or "due to".

Example: "The flight was delayed due to rain".

• Directly or exactly (in directions): As in due north (exactly north).
