Method: Measured porn use (predictor) and the outcome varibles;

  • sexual self-competence: score you give you sexual capacity

  • sexual functioning: sexual arousal, ercetion/lubrication

  • partner sexual satisfaction : sexual exchange / experience with your partner

Results:

  • sexual self-competence: increased by porn use for women and decrease for men

  • sexual functioning: increased by porn use for women and decrease for men

  • partner sexual satisfaction : decreased by porn use for both sexes, but more drastically for men

Conclusion:

  • for some women porn may be of inspiring nature

  • for men there may be an unattainable standard of comparison, which could lead to an increase in anxiety performance
