What is dermatogenous pain?
Pain along the sensory distribution of a nerve root
What is myotogenous pain?
Pain that originates within a muscle
What is scleratogenous pain?
Pain that arises from structures derived from embryological sclerotomes (joint pain)
What is radicular pain?
Pain along the course of a dermatome due to irritation of a nerve root
What is referred pain?
Pain along scleroderm of origination involving more than one kind of tissue (shared pathway)

Cramping, spasm, aching, dull
What is the characteristic of nerve pain?
Shooting, radiating, burning
What is the characteristic of circulation pain?
Throbbing, pulsating
What is the characteristic of bone cancer pain?
Constant, deep, boring, nocturnal; progressive, unremitting
What is the characteristic of scleratogenous pain?
Poorly localized, dull, ache

Trigger points
