Mixture

different particles, two or more pure substances, created by physical combination, components’ properties don't change, no set composition,

Element

Composed of the same atom, can’t be simplified

Monatomic Element

The element exists as one atom

Diatomic element

An element exists as two atoms bonded together, making atoms stable

Compound

A pure substance that consists of two or more elements chemically bonded in a fixed ratio, can be deconstructed by a chemical reaction

Homogeneous mixture

distribution of particles is even and mixed, individual parts can’t be seen

Heterogeneous mixture

uneven particle distribution, can have multiple phases, visible parts
