a number with 3 or more factors

common denominator

a common multiple of the denominators of two or more fractions

equivalent fractions

two or more fractions that name the same amount

simplest form

a fraction where the numerator and denominator have no common factors other than 1.

mixed number

a number made up of a whole number and a fraction

unit fraction

a fraction with a numerator of 1

numerator

the part of a fraction above the line, which tells how many parts are being counted

denominator

the part of a fraction below the line, which tells how many equal parts make up the whole.
