43.1 Applicability
Prescribes rules governing the maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alteration of any—
aircraft with a U.S. airworthiness certificate
foreign registered civil aircraft used in common carriage/mail
airframe, aircraft engines, propellers, applicants,, and component parts of such aircraft
DOES NOT APPLY TO:
experimental aircraft with experimental airworthiness certificate
any aircraft that’s operated under 107
all life-limited parts that are removable as stated in 43.10
43.2 Records of overhaul and rebuilding
No person may describe in any required maintenance entry or form an aircraft, airframe, aircraft engine, propeller, appliance, or component part as being
A: overhauled unless —
using acceptable practices to the administrator, it has been disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired as necessary, and reassembled,
AND
been tested in accordance with approved standards/technical data, with current standards/technical data acceptable to the administrator
B: rebuilt unless —
it has been disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired as necessary, reassembled, and tested to the same tolerances and limits as a new item
43.3 Persons authorized to preform maintenance, preventative maintenance, rebuilding, and alterations
