needs at least one similarity + one difference
in essay format, you would want an even split of both

describe

give a detailed account of a concept/topic

to what extent

consider 2 sides and clearly make an argument for ONE side

→ need to consider opp argument at least once

→ need to answer thesis with “…to ___ extent…”

discuss

consider multiple views to a topic

→ not necessary to choose one side

→ conclusion should sum up both arguments and which one is stronger

explain

same as describe, except u also provide examples + evidence

(detail how or why something happens, using evidence + examples)
