Private Projects Storage Location
The location where Media Composer stores files for private projects, specifically in the logged-on user's Documents folder.
Browse folder icon
The option in the Select Project window used to switch the project directory displayed in the Project list.
Three Principal Windows
The Timeline, Composer window, and Bin Container.
Bin Container
The window that serves as the project's central hub.
Bin
A container file that holds project assets such as clips, sequences, and titles.
Moving a Tabbed Bin
To move a tabbed bin into its own floating Bin Container window, drag the bin tab away from eligible edges while keeping it within the right panel of the Bin Container.
User Profile Creation Methods
Can be created via the Select Project window or by navigating to File > Settings, clicking the User tab, and selecting Create User Profile from the pop-up menu.
Save Current Workspace
The command path to save changes to a workspace: Windows > Workspaces > Save Current.
Interface Setting
The specific setting and window used to change Media Composer's brightness.
Auto-Save Settings
The setting that controls how often Media Composer automatically saves a copy of your bin(s).
1 and 2 Keys
Keyboard shortcuts that step backward or forward 8 frames/10 frames respectively.
3 or Left Arrow and 4 or Right Arrow
Keyboard shortcuts that step backward or forward 1 frame respectively.
5 or Spacebar
Keyboard shortcut that plays the media forward.
Home and End
Keyboard shortcuts used to jump to the first or last frame respectively.
Ctrl+L (Windows) / Command+L (Mac)
Keyboard shortcut used to enlarge Timeline track heights, frame sizes in a bin, or increase Source, Record, or Effects monitor zoom factor.
Ctrl+K (Windows) / Command+K (Mac)
Keyboard shortcut used to reduce Timeline track heights, frame sizes in a bin, or decrease Source, Record, or Effects monitor zoom factor.
Ctrl+S (Windows) / Command+S (Mac)
The standard keyboard shortcut for saving in Media Composer.
