Subject / Main subject
The central person, object, or motif depicted in a photograph or artwork (Motiv/Hauptmotiv).
Background
The portion of a scene or image located behind the main subject (Hintergrund).
Foreground
The area of an image that appears closest to the viewer (Vordergrund).
Scenery
The landscape or visual features forming the setting of an image (Landschaft/Szenerie).
Setting
The physical location, scene, or surroundings where an event or photograph takes place (Szenerie/Schauplatz).
Atmosphere
The general tone, feeling, or environment created by an image (Atmosphäre).
Mood
The prevailing emotional tone conveyed by an image, such as calm, tense, or joyful (Stimmung).
Bright / Vivid colours
Strong, intense, and striking colors in an image (leuchtende Farben).
Muted colours
Subdued, softened, or less intense colors (gedämpfte Farben).
Backlight / Silhouette
Lighting coming from behind the subject, often producing an outline or dark figure against a light background (Gegenlicht/Silhouette).
Focal point
The primary visual feature or center of attention in an image (Blickfang/Fokuspunkt).
Viewpoint / Angle
The specific perspective or position from which a photo is taken (Blickwinkel/Perspektive).
Close-up
A shot captured at close range, focusing tightly on a subject or specific detail (Nahaufnahme).
Long shot
A camera framing showing the subject from a distance along with its full surroundings (Totale/Weitaufnahme).
Medium shot
A framing technique shot from a moderate distance, showing both subject detail and context (Halbtotale).
Motion blur
The visual streaking effect caused by moving subjects during image capture (Bewegungsunschärfe).
Stillness
The quality of calm, quiet, or motionlessness in a scene (Stille/Ruhe).
Facial expression
The look on a person's face reflecting their inner feelings or emotions (Mimik/Gesichtsausdruck).
Urban / Cityscape
A setting or view featuring a city or built environment (städtisch/Stadtbild).
Rural / Countryside
A landscape setting relating to non-urban, countryside areas (ländlich/Landschaft).
Historic / Old-fashioned
Relating to past times or older styles (historisch/altmodisch).
Modern / Contemporary
Relating to present times and current styles (modern/zeitgenössisch).
Photographer / Artist
The person creating the photograph or artwork (Fotograf/Künstler).
Shot / Photograph
An image recorded by a camera (Aufnahme/Foto).
To depict
To represent or show a subject in an image or artwork (darstellen).
To portray
To depict or represent a person or subject in a specific artistic way (porträtieren/darstellen).
To capture a moment
To freeze or record a brief, fleeting instant in time through photography (einen Moment einfangen).
To emphasize
To highlight or bring special attention to a specific element in an image (betonen).
To highlight
To make a specific feature prominent or noticeable (hervorheben).
To suggest
To express or indicate indirectly through visual cues (andeuten/suggerieren).
To imply
To indicate or suggest something without explicitly showing it (implizieren/andeuten).
Depth
The visual sense of three-dimensional space created within a two-dimensional photograph (Raumgefühl).
