Oil Immersion

Improves image clarity and resolution at high magnifications by reducing light refraction.

Fixed Stage with Slide holder

Provides a stationary, flat platform that keeps a microscope slide securely in place over the light source.

Couse Focus Adjustment Knob

Moves stage (or objective lens) rapidly over a large distance to bring the specimen into focus.

Fine Focus Adjustment Knob

Changes the distance between the objective lens and the specimen

Rheostat Control Knob

Regulates the brightness or intensity of the illumination

Condenser with condenser control lever

Adjust the size of the opening through which light passes

Iris diaphragm with lever

Controls the size of the aperture (the opening) beneath the condenser

On / Off switch

Turns microscope on and off
