Conventional Representations
Industry-standard methods that simplify or modify true orthographic views to save space and improve clarity.
Simplified Views
Views that omit certain features not critical for understanding, often ignoring hidden lines or features.
Removed Views
These show only the visible part of an object from a specific angle, ignoring obscured features, indicated with labels.
Enlarged Removed Views
Detailed, zoomed-in sections of a drawing, indicated by a circle with a label and a scale larger than 1:1.
Partial Views
Show only part of an object using short break lines to indicate omitted sections, helpful in conserving space.
Conventional Breaks
Used to shorten long objects in drawings, can be straight, wavy, or zigzag, indicating omitted parts.
Revolution Conventions
Used for symmetrically placed features, showing true representation in cases with odd numbers of features.
Drafting Standards
Documented practices that detail industry agreements on representation methods in technical drawings.
Visualizing Skills
Skills developed through converting between isometric views and orthographic projections, important for sketching and design.
Industry Practices
Commonly accepted methods that may deviate from strict orthographic rules for efficiency and clarity.
