Permanent Settlement (1793)
A land revenue system introduced by Lord Cornwallis in Bengal.
Ryotwari System (1820)
A revenue system introduced by Munro and P. Read in South India, based on the Ricardian Theory of Rent, where revenue was fixed directly with peasants.
Mahalwari System (1822)
A revenue system introduced by Holt Mackenzie in Bengal, later modified by William Bentinck in 1833 in Punjab, where the revenue unit was the village or headman.

An uprising in Bihar and Bengal led by Manju Shah, Bhawani Pathak, and Devi Chaudharani.
