German immigration

1858; amer businessman who organized a joint anglo-amer-canadian venture to stretch cable under deep N Atlantic water from Newfoundland to Ireland; 1866, heavier cable set in place that permanently linked amer + euro continents; laid 1st telegraph wire across atlantic; cut down time for messages between euro + amer

Market revolution
