Factorial ANOVA
A statistical test used to determine whether the numerical variable was independent of multiple categorical variables.
Two-Way ANOVA
A statistical test that examines the influence of two different categorical independent variables on one numerical dependent variable.
Main Effect
The effect of a single independent variable in ANOVA.
Interaction
In ANOVA, when the effects of one independent variable depends on the level of another independent variable.
Sum of Squares Total (SST)
In two-way ANOVA, it is given by SST = SSG₁ + SSG2 + SSG1 + SSE, where SSG1 is the sum of squares between groups in the first variable, SSG2 is the sum of squares between groups in the second variable, and SSG, is the sum of squares in the interaction between the two variables.
MSG1
Mean Square of the first categorical variable
MSG2
Mean Square of the second categorical variable
MSE
Mean Squared Error
Tukey HSD
Tukey Honest Significant Difference test - one way to check which differences between means are significant.
Bonferroni Correction
A correction method used to address the multiple comparisons problem - one way to check which differences between means are significant.
