Hemizygous
The state of having only one copy of a gene, which applies to males for genes located on the X chromosome.
Meiosis II vs Mitosis (Ploidy)
In meiosis II, the cells involved are haploid (half the chromosome number), whereas in mitosis, they are diploid.
Sister chromatids (Meiosis II vs Mitosis)
In meiosis II, these structures are not identical, while in mitosis, they are identical.
S-phase (Meiosis II vs Mitosis)
A phase that always occurs before mitosis but is absent immediately before meiosis II.
Null alleles
A term often used for alleles created by a mutation that disables the wild-type allele.
