Completely Randomized Design (CRD)
The simplest experimental design, where treatments are randomly assigned to experimental units.
Randomized Complete Block Design
A design that divides the experimental area into sections to control variation, assigning treatment levels randomly within each block.
Sampling Unit
The smallest unit on which an observation is taken.
Experimental Unit
The unit to which a treatment is applied; in a CRD, it's equivalent to the sampling unit.
Species Richness
A measure of diversity; the number of species in a plot or area.
Residual Sums of Squares
The variation that remains unexplained by treatments or blocking.
Block
The minimum level which has all the different treatment levels.
