What is component 1 and its function?
Diopter ring- Compensates/corrects for difference between eyes
What is component 2 and its function?
Revolving nosepiece:- Switches between objectives
What is component 3 and its function?
Stage- Holds slide
What is component 4 and its function?
Specimen holder- Secures slide
What is component 5 and its function?
Condenser aperture diaphragm lever- Adjusts the diaphragm, needs to be changed in relation to objective lens being used
What is component 9 and its function?
Longitudinal stage motion knob- Moves stage up and down to change viewing field
What is component 10 and its function?
Lateral stage motion knob- Moves stage left and right to change viewing field
What is component 11 and its function?
Field diaphragm ring- Adjusts the field diaphragm
What is component 12 and its function?
Field diaphragm centering screw- Adjust the field diaphragm to center of field of view (E.g. backpack knocks microscope)
What is component 14 and its function?
Power switch- Turns microscope on/off
What is component 15 and its function?
Brightness control dial- Adjusts illumination intensity
What is component 16 and its function?
Condenser focus knob- Moves the condenser up/down for focusing
What is component 17 and its function?
Fine focus knob- Makes micro adjustments for focusing
What is component 18 and its function?
Coarse focus knob- Makes larger (stage) adjustments for focusing
