Trachea

Long tube reinforced with cartilaginous rings to prevent collapse during inhalation

Larynx

Creates vocal sound and as a trap door to route air and food to correct tubes

Lungs

Branches into left and right bronchi, that continues to branch into small bronchioles until becoming alveoli, where gas exchange occurs

Diaphragm

Aids in respiration and separates thoracic and abdominal cavities

Pericardium

Protective sac with lubricating fluid that protects the heart and cushions its movements

Heart

Driving forces behind the circulation system, in humans and rabbits it has four chambers that pump blood through the pulmonary circuit to the lungs and the systemic circuit to the body

Aorta

Delivers blood to the rest of the body
