What is the difference between comparative and functional anatomy? Give examples of each.

Comparative anatomy allows us to see ourselves in a broader biological context and helps us form hypotheses to explain patterns observed in nature. An example of this is comparing muscle scars on bones. Functional anatomy focuses on form vs. function. An example of this is EMG, when a muscle is turned on vs. off.
