people believed that less children would make china richer, china feared a rapidly growing population would strain resources and to avoid famine

food supply, avoided famines. Healthcare, more money went to healthcare bc of fewer babies. Over-crowding, less over-crowding in major cities

how was it implemented

the child would have free education. and healthcare but if you were to have a second child all the benefits that the first child had would have to be paid back, had to get permission from work to get pregnant and also 24+ and married. There were also tattle tales at work and at home

why was it abolished

the elderly population grew rapidly decreasing economic growth. Chinas population started to fall for the first time since 1961.

how did they bring people back

they started to pay people 3600rmb every year for each of their kids under 3, but even after 10 years of getting rid of the policy birth rates still decreased
