Density-Dependent Limiting Factors
Things that limit a population of organisms and are dependent on the numbers of organisms
Density-Independent Limiting Factor
Things that limit a population of organisms and are NOT dependent on the number of organisms
Biotic Factors
The part of a specific environment that are living
Abiotic Factors
The parts of a specific environment that are not living
Predator/Prey
Predators are consumers that eat other animals which are called prey
Parasitism
A density dependent limiting factor where one organisms lives on or in another organism.
Carrying capacity
The maximum amount of organisms an environment can hold calculated by using the average maximum.
linear growth
Growth where the population increases by the same amount every time period (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12,)
Exponential growth
growth where the population increases more and more every time period.
biomass
the mass (weight) of living organisms
