What is The Bible?
The Bible is a collection of 66 books written by about 40 authors, in three different languages.
Where does the word Bible come from?
Greece and it is from the word “Biblos” which means books

How many testaments is the bible split into?
The Old Testament has four divisions and was first written in Hebrew and Aramaic. They are the Pentateuch, Historical books, Poetry and wisdom literature, Prophetic books
How many divisions are there in the Old Testament and what are they?
What are the Pentateuch books?
The first five books example Genesis, Exodus and Leviticus and it is taken from the Greek word meaning five scrolls and is said to have been written by Moses. It tells the story of God’s people from creation to the death of Moses.
What are the Historical books?
These books for example Joshua, Judges and Samuel tell us the history of the nation of Israel and the rebuilding of Jerusalem after their exile in Babylon.
What are the poetry books?
These books teach us to live by God’s standards and laws for example Proverbs, Psalms and Job.
These prophets were chosen by God to lead back his people to Him for example Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel.
What are the Prophetic books?
Four and it was first written in Greek
