Three basic beliefs of behaviorists are objectivism, environmentalism, and reinforcement. Objectivism refers to analyzing an individual's external factors. Environmentalism is the role the environment plays with behavior. Reinforcement is the idea that the consequences of our behavior affect our future behavior.

Behaviorists also believed psychology was observable and measurable.
