The preamble

Creates Congress, which includes the Senate and the House of Representatives, and grants it the power to make laws

Article 1-legislative

Establishes the presidency and the Vice Presidency, outlining their roles in enforcing laws, serving as commander-in-chief, and managing foreign policy

Article 2- executive (not 2 but 1 pres)

Creates the Supreme Court and gives Congress the power to form lower federal courts, defining treason and the scope of judicial power

Article 3-judicial (3 branches of gov)

Explains how states interact with each other and with the federal government, including rules for adding new states and guaranteeing a republican form of government

Article 4-The states (Georgia was the 4th state)

Article 5-Amendments

Guarantees the right to a jury trial in federal civil lawsuits

Prohibits excessive bail, excessive fines, and cruel and unusual punishments

Clarifies that the listing of certain rights in the Constitution does not mean people do not retain other unwritten rights
