Rest
The state of an object when it does not change its position relative to its surroundings over time.
Motion
The change in position of an object with respect to its surroundings and time.
Relative Nature of Motion
The concept that whether an object is at rest or in motion depends on the observer's frame of reference.
Translatory Motion
Motion in which every point of an object moves the same distance in the same interval of time.
Rectilinear Motion
Motion of an object along a straight line.
Curvilinear Motion
Motion of an object along a curved path.
Circulatory Motion
Motion of an object moving around a fixed point in a circular path at a constant distance.
Rotatory Motion
Motion of a body spinning about a fixed axis passing through itself.
Oscillatory Motion
The back-and-forth or to-and-fro movement of an object about its mean position.
Simple Pendulum
An arrangement of a small, heavy mass (bob) suspended from a rigid support by a light string.
Time Period (T)
The time taken by a simple pendulum to complete one full oscillation, with SI unit second (s).
Vibratory Motion
A rapid oscillatory motion where only a part of the object moves back and forth, often producing sound.
