Mechanics
The branch in Physics that deals with how objects move and are acted upon by forces, divided into two primary fields.
Kinematics
The branch in Mechanics that explores how objects move quantitatively without considering the forces acting upon it, including position, velocity, and acceleration.
Dynamics
The branch in Mechanics that explores why objects move, including actual forces, such as gravity, friction, and energy.
Motion
The continous change of an object over a period of time in relation to its starting or reference point.
Measurement
The process of describing quantities by attributing unknown quantities to predefined and systematic standards, allowing units to be explained using numbers.
Units
These are the standardized expression for physical quantities used to compare measured values.
Physical Quantities
These are the properties of a material or system that can be observed or measured directly.
International Systems of Units (SI)
This is the universally accepted metric system used to ensure clarity and consistency in science and other academic-related matters.
Kilogram (kg)
This is the SI unit for mass, which is equal to 1,000 grams.
Kelvin (K)
This is the SI unit for temperature, which could be calculated by adding 273.15 to degree Celsius.
Candela (cd)
This is the SI unit for luminous intensity, which is roughly equivalent to the light intensity of an ordinary wax.
Second (s)
This is the SI unit for time, which is equal to a sixtieth of a minute.
Meter (m)
This is the SI unit for length, which is a thousandth of a kilometer.
Mole (mol)
This is the SI unit for the amount of a substance, whereas one contains roughly 6.022 × 10²² particles.
Ampere (A)
This is the SI unit for electric current, which represents one coulomb of electrical charge per second.

Derived Quantities
These are the properties of a material or system that cannot be measured directly, but instead calculated or computed by combining two or more measurements of quantities.
English System of Measurement
This is the system of measurement adapted from several ancient civilizations.
Metric System of Measurement
This is the system of measurement with all units based on multiples of ten.
Accuracy
This is the degree to which a measured value corresponds to the actual or “true” value of the object.
Uncertainty
This is the doubt or margin of error that comes with every measurement.
Large Uncertainty
This indicates that the experimenter has a low degree of accuracy.
Small Uncertainty
This indicates that the experimenter has a high degree of accuracy.
Range of True Value
This is the span of numbers where the real, exact measurement most likely hides.
Precision
This refers to how closely repeated measurements of the same quantity agree with each other.
High Precision
This happens when repeated trial results vary very little or are close to each other.
Low Precision
This happens when repeated trial results vary or are far to each other.
Translational Motion
This is the movement of an object from one point to another.
One-dimensional Motion
This translational motion only moves in a singular direction.
Two-dimensional Motion
This translational motion have its vertical motion and horizontal motion completely independent of each other.
