Umrah Speech

In the school holidays, we had the incredible opportunity to travel to Madinah, Makkah and Turkey. Although we visited many famous places, we realised that this journey was much more than sightseeing. It was a journey that strengthened our faith and changed the way we see this dunya.

Our journey began in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, the city of our beloved Prophet ﷺ. We prayed in Masjid an-Nabawi, had the honour of praying in Rawdah, and gave salam to the Prophet ﷺ. We also visited places such as Quba Mosque and Mount Uhud, which made us feel as though we had stepped into the history we had learned about in Islamic Studies.

After Madinah, we travelled to Makkah, reciting the Talbiyah throughout the five-hour journey. Upon arriving, we performed Umrah. Setting our eyes upon the Ka'bah for the very first time was a breathtaking experience that we will never forget. Walking around the Ka'bah during Tawaf, completing Sa'i between Safa and Marwah, and praying in the Haram reminded us that no matter where Muslims come from, we are all equal before Allah. Wearing the ihram also taught us humility, because before Allah, every person stands equal.
