Distance-Time Graph
A graph showing how the distance of an object varies over time.
Constant Speed
Represented by a straight line on a distance-time graph; indicates uniform motion.
Slope
The gradient of a line on a graph, representing speed in a distance-time graph.
Changing Speed
Represented by a curve in a distance-time graph, indicating acceleration or deceleration.
Gradient Formula
Formula to calculate speed: speed = gradient = ∆y/∆x.
Instantaneous Speed
The speed of an object at a specific moment in time.
Average Speed
The total distance traveled divided by the total time taken.
Acceleration
The rate of change of velocity over time.
Formula Triangle
A visual tool used to rearrange equations based on quantity relationships.
Velocity-Time Graph
A graph showing how the velocity of a moving object varies with time.
Displacement
The change in position of an object, represented by the area under a velocity-time graph.
Uniform Acceleration
Constant acceleration; when the speed changes at a uniform rate.
Deceleration
A decrease in velocity; negative acceleration.
