Critical Parameter
ANY that SS determines heightened awareness:
Abnormal control (Manual vs. Auto) or outside band
When CP established, SS and watch stander will agree on:
Monitoring method
Limit/Band
Action if exceeded
Frequency of monitoring*
“For CPs in the control room the parameter will be consistently monitored by a Plant Operator”
CP must be notified to SM as soon as practical
IF greater than a shift: Narrative Log entry or alternative tracking and discuss during turnover
Key Parameter
“Power, Pressure, Level” and Temperature
Core, Pressurizer, Steam Generators
Vogtle 3&4 Succession of Responsibility
Plant Manager
Operations Director
Shift Manager
Shift Supervisor
Vogtle 3&4 Pre-Approved Two-Handed Manipulations
DAS Control Panel (MCR)
Resets for the following DAS actuations:
PRHR
CMT
Containment Isolation
Containment Cooling (PCS)
Remote Shutdown Room (RSR)
Over/Under Switches for Onerous Actuations:
ADS Stages 1-3
ADS Stage 4
IRWST Injection
Containment Recirculation
RNS Isolation
*SS may allow exceptions directed/required by design
Alarm Response Normal vs. Transient Conditions
Normal:
ALL alarm actuation should be communicated, grouping IS allowable when appropriate
Transient:
It is understood not all will be communicated, the qualified watch stander will assess and communicate NEW/UNKNOWN issues commensurate with the significance
Expected Alarm Requirements
Actions required PRIOR to actuation:
Preview ARP(s)
As appropriate Flag alarms
Communicate pending alarm
*When alarm occurs:
Tested: Ensure compensator actions are performed
Subsequent alarms for same activity are NOT required to be verbalized
If no actions were required, ARP/SOP reference NOT required
Nuisance Alarms
Criteria:
Re-flash often due to actual condition/indication failure
Seal-in/re-flash longer frequency with false plant condition
SS has determination to silence nuisance alarms, these DO REQUIRE a CR
Crew Brief Nuanced Information
A PAUSE in the brief is taken to respond to alarms/controls however it IS permissible to delay ARP actions until completion of brief
Orders are NOT given during Briefs therefore repeat-backs will NOT be used during briefs
OATC “Distraction” Allowances
Specific Allowances and Prohibited Activities
Logs, Maximo, D2, Tagging, Plant Cameras, Grid monitoring, Plant Computer
Specific Prohibited Activities:
Any Email
Internet usage INCLUDING CBTs (No training allowed)
Specific System requiring additional Oversight/Actions
Any RNS action shall go through SS
IF time to 200F(SFP) <24hrs SS must maintain direct oversight
Fleet-wide Skill of the Craft Items
Quick Connect Fittings
Alarm acknowledgement
Firefighting Equipment
Recorders
Temporary Equipment
Holding Turbine ramps using Ovation
Testing panel alarms
Cabinet light switches
Navigating HMIs
Abnormal Configuration Time Requirements
Immediate Hazard: Implement Tagging Procedure
<2 Shifts, No more than 1 turnover: Narrative Logs with SS permission
Anything Greater: (in order of preference) Generatre WO, TCC, Design change

If you exceed the average for 2 hours, take immediate action to fix
