Regulates other endocrine glands and secretes hormones

Produces melatonin, which regulates sleep wake cycles. Influences reproductive functions

Found in neck
Produces thyroid hormones
Location and function of Parathyroid gland
Four small glands located on posterior surface of the thyroid gland
Regulate calcium and phosphate levels in blood and so influence bone health
Location and function of Adrenal glands
Situated on top of each kidney
Adrenal cortex - produces cortisol (stress response) and aldosterone (regulates electrolytes)
Adrenal medulla - produces adrenaline and norepinephrine (fight or flight)
