Group Cohesion

the extent to which a group stays together & cooperates in the pursuit of the common goals and objectives.

Task Cohesion

the degree to which members of a group are committed to achieving their predetermined goal.

Social Cohesion

the level of strength of the relationships and the sense of solidarity among the members of a group.

Sociogram (group cohesion measure)

a picture or diagram that identifies social links between players in a team.

Questionnaires (group cohesion measure)

a collection of questions that measure four dimensions of cohesion; individuall and group perceptions of task cohesion, and individual and group perceptions of social cohesion.

Observation Analysis (group cohesion measure)

a coach can watch how players at training and their interactions off the field to see who each player mixes with, who they avoid, who they perform well with.

Social Loafing

the tendency of an individual in a team to reduce their effort.

The Ringlemann Effect

the tendency for individual members of a group to become increasingly less productive as the size of thier group increases.

Leadership

the ability of an individual or group to guide or influence others towards achieving a common goal.

Team Dynamics

the collective goals, identity or standards of the team as a whole.

Team Building Activities

an activity designed to enhance collaboration, communication, and cohesion among team members.
