Fibrous Pericardium: Tough, outer connective tissue sac.
Parietal Pericardium (Parietal layer of serous pericardium): Lines the inside of the fibrous pericardium.
Pericardial Cavity: Space between parietal and visceral layers containing pericardial fluid to reduce friction.
Visceral Pericardium = Epicardium: The same layer; it serves as the outermost layer of the heart wall and the inner layer of the serous pericardium.
Myocardium: Thick middle layer composed of cardiac muscle.
Endocardium: Smooth, innermost endothelial lining of the heart chambers and valves.
